Completing the Task

Anyone who has set out to accomplish a great feat knows it only matters to complete the task. If a person sets out to summit a mountain but repeatedly stops midway for any number of reasons, then eventually the desire to summit may be reduced to just climbing. After a while, the desire may dissipate and eventually fade away. But when a person diligently trains, prepares, and finds a way to the top of the mountain—and safely back down—the reward is far greater. When we consider the great poem of creation that God has been writing, we remember that, unlike us, God knows what he intends to accomplish from the beginning. God knows what it will take to finish it, and he is faithful to do so. This is what makes salvation and restoration so important to us. God was not willing to stop halfway. He has finished the task, summitted, and comes back down to draw us along the way. We can do it because God has assured us we can.
