Failure is something everyone faces. When children are little, we often attempt to soften the feeling of failure by saying things like, “It just wasn’t the right time,” or “Maybe someone needed that more than you did.” However, when we get older, we tend to treat failure with contempt and silence. After all, who wants to hear about your failures? When was the last time you heard about a person being prayed over to get a job, only to find they did not get the job? What do you say to someone who tried hard to pass an exam but still failed? Sometimes we just tell people to try harder, but the truth is, this doesn’t address our common experiences as humans.
