College basketball games have forty minutes of gameplay. The result isn’t final until the last buzzer sounds, but many games are over long before that. Some nights, you can tell your team will win the game within the first couple of minutes. The opponent is overmatched. There is no way they can come back. Still, the game will continue until the result has been finalized. Something similar but much more wonderful happened with Jesus’s resurrection. He showed that death has no claim on him. Now it is only a matter of time until death is finally defeated for us all.
