Sometimes children play dress-up. They gather their clothes together, and in a matter of moments, they are transformed into princesses or superheroes. They run around the backyard as if on a great conquest, or they set out to save the world. Other times, children dress up as doctors or police officers. Maybe they set up a classroom and teach their stuffed animals. Maybe they turn the living room into a stage and sing to thousands. As they do this, parents might be watching and thinking to themselves, “Could this be something?” They watch them dress up as their favorite athlete or movie character and begin to act out things their parents had not yet considered. Sometimes, in moments when we least expect it, God shows up to shine out to us who he is. If we open to seeing him when he does, we might be surprised at who we find him to be.
