When a royal family has a child, the child automatically gains titles and lands, even if they cannot yet rule over them. Similarly, when we are adopted into God’s family, we receive the rights and privileges of being his children, including eternal life and victory over sin. Though we may not yet see the fullness of that inheritance, it is ours through Christ. We can trust it is real, knowing that one day we will enjoy that truth in its fullness.
