Gardeners are wise to plant perennial vegetables. Once planted, they return each year, thus eliminating yearly planting efforts. Although these plants grow without replanting, they do require intentional care and harvesting. If all the asparagus shoots are harvested at once, for instance, the plant will struggle to survive. Humans are similar. Even in areas of our life in which we feel we’re all set after God teaches us one lesson, we need continual, intentional cultivation to grow further.
