Light In The Darkness

Just as light exists forever and everywhere in open space, Christ shines. It is an irrefutable fact of God’s nature that he is unconquerably bright. No evil, no malevolence, and no spiritual darkness can overcome his light. Darkness helps us understand God’s light by comparison, but God’s light does not rely on darkness to exist. It is existence itself. The darkness knows of God, as does the earth, and they tremble at his presence (James 2:19; Psalm 104:32). On Easter, we take the opportunity to reflect on both the spiritual darkness we were born into and the work of Christ that freed us from it. It is our exodus from the dark side of the moon.
