Inflate a few party balloons with air (not helium) and tie them closed. In another balloon, insert a golf ball, bouncy ball, or some other small object with weight, then inflate it as you did the others. Illustrate how tossing or serving the ball (as if it were a volleyball) does not cause the balloon to travel far. Do the same with the weighted balloon. Observe that the off-center weight helps the balloon travel farther than the empty balloon. Use this to illustrate what we look like, as off-center, eccentric, cross-shaped people, to those around us.
