One More Little Sin

Have you ever tried to eat just one OREO cookie? It’s almost impossible. OREOs are meant to be eaten in pairs—maybe even threes or fours. You tell yourself, “Just one more,” and before you know it, half the package is gone. Then, two days later, you’re wondering, “How did I eat all of them?” In many ways, compromise works the same way. We tell ourselves it’s just a small thing—one harmless choice, one more exception, one little concession. But like a sleeve of cookies, sin rarely stays small. It’s designed to keep calling us back until the whole package is gone, and we’re left wondering how something so small got such a hold on us.
