During the opening ceremony of the Olympics, famous athletes and participants in lesser-known events represent their country together, walking into the stadium at the same time. It’s a beautiful sight, but imagine if during the games, a speed walker forgot what team he was on and tried to participate in the 100-meter sprint. It would not go well. Even though the speed walker and the sprinter represent the same country, they have a more specific loyalty. They live out their potential only by remembering where they truly belong. The same is true of us. We may be citizens of a particular country or region of the world, but as Christians we must remember that our highest calling is to Christ. That guides our actions.
