Throughout our lives, we always need someone to be able to count on for whatever we face. Some people have found this in their families. Maybe it was a parent who showed up at every game or stayed up late to talk about life. It might have been a sibling or a close friend who had your back no matter how foolish you were. For some, their spouse or a lifelong friend became their “ride or die.” Movies have shown this kind of friendship, from Thelma and Louise to Harry, Hermione, and Ron. When Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit, he knew we’d need a “ride or die” for life.
