Certain levels of precision require appropriate and special tools. A butcher doesn’t need perfection when making certain cuts of meat, so he uses a cleaver because it’s ideal for quantity. On the other hand, a surgeon requires an instrument so precise it walks the line between a lifesaving and a life-ending cut. The sword of the Spirit is a weapon of precision beyond any of these. It divides the mind from the spirit, light from the darkness, and truth from the lies. As we are in the business of bringing forth a message that separates the sin from the sinner, we must wield a weapon capable of doing just such a thing.
