In the second movie of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Two Towers (directed by Peter Jackson [New Line Cinema, 2002]), the people of Rohan flee to Helm’s Deep to fortify themselves against the coming army of Orcs sent by Saruman to take over the land and their kingdom. The Battle of Helm’s Deep is an important battle for the survival of Middle-Earth. The men and their Elven allies face off against the Orc army, and after a long night of fighting, all hope seems lost for the forces of good. But at the very last moment, at dawn, hope arrives with the coming of Gandalf and reinforcements. Many times in our lives, all hope seems lost, yet God shows up at the right moment to rescue us and make things right.
