The 2015 shooting of nine people at a Bible study at the Charleston Emanuel AME church was horrendously shocking. But what was even more shocking was the reaction of some of the survivors. Rather than, understandably, cursing the murderer’s name, some of the members who had lost family members through tears publicly forgave him.
