Forgotten Past

Have you ever been in a situation in which a sibling did something that really irritated you, and you wanted them to just go away? But then something happened: Your sibling needed help and you were the closest person available. Would you help them? Rivalry and disagreements between siblings aren’t uncommon, but when we love our siblings, we can go from being upset with them to being upset for them (and defending them if necessary) in a heartbeat—especially if we think they’re in danger. In that moment, the disagreement of the past is forgotten, and our attention turns to keeping our loved one safe.
