Plagiarism

Every good teacher includes in their syllabus a plagiarism policy. It usually says that there is zero tolerance for plagiarism of any kind. If plagiarism is found, it will result in immediate discipline. What is plagiarism? It is taking credit for another’s work. In school, this isn’t acceptable. It’s lying and stealing. However, Paul teaches about something similar that we all need to do. On our own, we do not have the righteousness we need. When we take the righteousness test, we all fail. The good news of the gospel, though, is that Jesus is perfectly righteous. He took the righteousness test and passed with a perfect grade. And through faith, we can get credit for what he did. When we put on the breastplate of God’s righteousness, we receive Jesus’s righteousness, which we need to be accepted by God.
