In A Knight’s Tale (directed by Brian Helgeland [Columbia Pictures, 2001]), Prince Edward knights Sir William in dramatic fashion. William, supposedly a man from humble origins, finds himself locked in the stocks. The prince shows up unexpectedly and orders his release. Upon his release, the prince announces that William is descended from an ancient, noble family line. As a result, he knights William in front of all the people (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95N85bGdzw4). Similarly, Jesus appeared to be from a humble family. Through his death and resurrection, however, God showed him to be God’s Son.
