A Powerful Love

a couple of pigs that are laying down

. In the children’s book Sidney and Norman: A Tale of Two Pigs, Norman is tidy
and organized. Sidney struggles, and Norman judges him for it. When both are
summoned to meet God, Norman expects praise, but instead God makes him
realize how selfish and prideful he has been. When Sidney arrives, God simply
says to him, “I love you” three times. “Others on the street would later talk about
the small messy pig they saw that day that appeared to be, well, glowing” (Phil
Vischer, Sidney and Norman: A Tale of Two Pigs [Nashville: Tommy Nelson,
2006], 25). The knowledge of God the Father’s love has the power to change us.
