Ask Again

Pastor Matt Chandler’s thoughts on prayer give us a powerful image of God’s eagerness to hear from us, His children

“[A biblical view of persistent prayer] is a far cry from how we interact with our children and how we interact with our parents. Our parents are more like, ‘Give me some space before I harm you. You have asked thirty-two times. If you’ll just let me think, if you’ll just let me talk to your mother, I’ll give you an answer, but if you ask me again, the answer is no.’ [But we see in Scripture], God is saying, ‘Bother me! Pester Me, keep knocking on My door, give Me no rest until I answer you.’ So not only has He ordained that we should ask Him, but He delights in the asking.” http://thevillagechurch.net/resources/sermons/detail/devotion-to-prayer/
