Infomercials often play late at night. The purpose is to quickly build your interest
in a product so you’ll purchase it. They will usually throw in additional items if you
buy it. With each new product, the announcer will say, “But wait, there’s more…”
Reading the first five verses of John 1 feels a little like hearing that expression
over and over. It keeps revealing more and more about Jesus. But instead of
trying to convince you that a product will bring satisfaction, you learn that in
Jesus we find true life (John 1:4).
