In his article, “Want to Be Healthier? Change Your Taste Buds,” Michael Greger shares that our taste buds can change once we remove certain types of food from our diet. Removing sugary and salty food for a while can eventually cause the desire for those unhealthy foods to leave. Thus, when integrating healthier foods, we naturally do not associate ourselves with the taste or feeling we used to have when eating the unhealthy foods. In the same way, we too can remove ourselves from certain lusts; later we may look back on what we used to entertain and not desire it anymore because of our victory over it.
