Denial

Learning the truth can often be a hard pill to swallow, to the point that many of us will do anything we can to live our lives in denial. Many examples of this happen on the show Hoarders, where people who collect and hold onto many, many things have reached the point of damaging their homes, their families, and their lives. In one episode, the interventionist asks a man, as they stare at a wall filled with papers, furniture, and many collected things, if this looks like too much, or just right.
