“Did I leave the oven on?” “Did we forget a child at the store?” When have you forgotten something important? It’s easy to do. We go about our day, and we remember that we didn’t text someone back or that we were supposed to be someplace. When we remember, it usually has to do with us previously forgetting. We recall something that has been absent from our minds. It is important to realize that when Scripture says, “God remembered,” it isn’t because he got so busy that he forgot to get back to us. God doesn’t forget because he is finite, too busy, or has amnesia. God’s memory relates to his purpose and relationship with his people.
