Guarding Your Heart

Have you ever been passed over for a promotion by someone who doesn’t
deserve it? They slack off at work and cut corners, hurting their coworkers in the
long run. However, they somehow have enough charm to sweet-talk their way to
the top. It can be infuriating. This psalm is analogous to moments like that. The
author was tempted to adopt the behavior of those who get rewarded in the short
term. We need to guard our hearts against thinking like that.
