Hiding

According to this HuffPost article, kids hide things from their parents for three reasons: they don’t want to share, they think the parents won’t understand, or they are ashamed (Jessica Margolin, “Why Do Children Hide Commonplace Things from Their Parents?,” HuffPost, March 11, 2013, https://www.huffpost.com/entry/why-do-children-hide-comm_b_2853445). Just as children hide things from the responsible adults in their lives, so we try to hide things from God. Nothing can be hidden from him, however, nor can we experience his grace unless we hand our shame over to him.
