In 1985, Folgers debuted a commercial that they would run every year at Christmastime for the next twelve years. It ran for such a long time because it was popular and resonated with so many people. The commercial told the story of a college student, Peter, who arrives home early Christmas morning and fixes a pot of coffee while the family is still sleeping. When they all wake up and come downstairs, everyone is overjoyed to have the son back home and the family back together.
