It’s hard to not be annoyed by heavy construction in the city or on the roads. Construction, detours, and potholes make travel to our usual destinations cumbersome. However, the goal is for the city to have brand-new, smooth roads and freeways; even in the middle of the challenges and inconveniences, we must wait patiently for what we know the outcome will be in the future. We know that their future is bright because they have a depiction of the finished product given by the city officials. In a similar way, as we walk through life, discontent with the way things are in the present, we can look to the promises of the Bible as a reminder that, with God, our future is always brighter. We can have hope in our future, knowing that we have an eternal home full of richness and peace.
