Have you ever tried to put on someone else’s coat, one that was too small for you? Picture a man who is 6 ft., 2 in. and 250 pounds and tried to put on his wife’s pink, fur, petite coat. Not only would you probably tear the fabric, but the color wouldn’t go with what you were wearing. You would look ridiculous. Sometimes the church uses passages of Scripture like a person putting on the wrong jacket. We can put on, use, and try to fit certain verses to suit our needs that were never meant to fit our expectations. One verse that Christians have been trying to fit into for years is 2 Chronicles 7:14.
