Jesus Doesn’t Require A Proposal

The US federal government is required to use a bid process for contracts. A company that wants a federal contract must go through a lengthy application and evaluation process, during which the government will review their proposal—the cost, time, people involved, and anticipated deadlines—before finally determining the winner of the project. Thankfully, while Jesus asks us to count the cost, he isn’t evaluating and choosing people based on their proposal to follow him, but rather, on his desire that they become his disciple.
