Light Up The Dark

Mirrors can give us what we need, but it’s nothing like the real thing. On Mythbusters (season 9, episode 11, “Let There Be Light,” directed by Alice Dallow and Lauren Gray Williams, aired June 22, 2011), the hosts tested if you could beam ambient light from the sun off mirrors into a dark area to light it up, as seen in The Mummy. They determined that under certain circumstances, you could get enough light into a dark room to be able to make your way around the space. But then host Jamie, with his bright white shirt, stepped into one of the beams, and the light level in the room tripled.
