The film About Time starts as a science-fiction story about a time traveler. In the end, the main character has learned how to live in the present and enjoy each moment rather than relying on being able to go back and do things over. He says, “I just try to live every day as if I have deliberately come back to this one day, to enjoy it, as if it was the full, final day, of my extraordinary, ordinary, life” (directed by Richard Curtis [Universal Pictures, 2013], 1:53:20). As we continue our series on contentment, it’s important to acknowledge that how we think and what we focus on has a significant influence on our level of contentment.
