As Michael Jordan’s basketball career ended in the late 1990s, sports reporters confidently declared that we would never see another player like him. Little did they know, a young man named Kobe Bryant had spent his whole life studying Michael Jordan’s game. He learned all of Jordan’s moves and practiced them devotedly. As his career took off in the early 2000s, people began to recognize the similarities between Bryant’s and Jordan’s playing styles. While Kobe Bryant had to struggle to make his game in the image of Michael Jordan, we don’t struggle to be made in God’s image. It’s just who and what we are.
