In the movie Big Fish (directed by Tim Burton, Columbia Pictures, 2004), we see Edward, a man who tries to separate fact from fiction in the story of his father’s life. In one scene, Edward returns to a former utopian town called Spectre, which has now become desolate and bankrupt. The residents are bankrupt and the town’s former glory has faded. Edward brings the residents together to restore and rebuild the town. Likewise, Jeremiah prophesies that the Lord will one day buy back and redeem the land of Israel (v. 15).
