How should we envision this peace we have in God? Picture a large oak tree in a field. A storm comes up and the wind and rain pound and blow on the tree, but because of the roots, the tree does not fall over. The peace that we have in God is not an absence of storms, but peace in the storm because of who we are rooted in. Or think of construction workers who must work high up in the air. They are tied off to something strong to support them in a dangerous situation. To be rooted and tethered brings strength and peace during the storms and scary moments of life. Jesus doesn’t remove struggle, chaos, or conflict from us but gives peace in and through our lives.
