In the film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Yondu Udonta, Peter’s surrogate father, reveals that he has loved Peter all this time and tried to do the best he could to raise him and, in the end, sacrifices himself so that Peter may live. Sometimes we don’t realize how deep the Father’s love for us is until we see God’s love in the sending of his Son (John 3:16).
