Take A Stand

During the Holocaust, some people put their lives at risk by hiding and protecting Jews. One example is Helene Jacobs, who helped arrange false identification papers for German Jews. As a German, Ms. Jacobs believed it was her duty to take a stand against the Nazis. She was arrested and imprisoned for her part in the counterfeiting (Jonathan Blaustein, “Risking Torture and Death to Save Jews During the Holocaust,” New York Times, July 23, 2018, https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/23/lens/holocaust-jews-rescuers.html).
