Have you ever really listened to the Christmas music that is played at a mall or sung on the radio? Some of the music presents amazing Christian doctrine. For example, in the 2018 animated rendition of Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch, the carolers of Whoville are singing the carol “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen” (directed by Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier [Universal Pictures, 2018]). This might seem like just another Christmas song. But think about it. A fictional world of animated characters is singing, “Remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas Day. To save us all from Satan’s power…” Such powerful Christian doctrine presented in a movie that has nothing to do with Jesus! The unconscious presentation of the gospel is sung by the world during the Christmas season.
