The Right Thing

The Pharisees seem to have a collective “better than you” mentality because of their focus on the law. Their belief that they are doing the “right thing” and will receive accolades for it separates them from others. In the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, 2009, Sony Pictures Animation), Flint Lockwood somewhat accidentally invents a machine that causes the sky to rain down food on his tiny town. Tourists start to show up, and the mayor convinces Flint to keep the machine going. Believing he is doing the right thing, Flint starts to ignore the voices of those around him for the sake of his “right thing.”
