The Standard

Most parents have said something like this to their children: “Remember: when you leave our house, you are representing this family.” Coaches say it about their teams when they go out to compete. Employers will say it when training employees. The idea that we live out a certain code of ethics or ideals is ingrained into each of us. There are many reasons leaders say things like, “We are better than this,” or “Don’t forget who you are.” The idea is that we will live up to a meaningful standard.
