We think we need every question answered, but we don’t. In fact, sometimes we need the person we are asking questions of to keep silent. Their silence forces us to reconsider the information we already have. This happens when a husband asks his wife the same question for the thousandth time. A little bit of silence will help him remember the answer his spouse just told him. Before we get angry about God’s silence, let us consider what he might be teaching through it.
