Unchartered Territory

At many moments in life, the possibilities seem endless. Fresh out of high school or college, the world is your oyster. Newlyweds are just launching an entire lifetime together. New parents enter the unknown of whom their baby will grow up to be. Empty nesters find themselves having to rediscover life after kids. These are just a few milestones we could encounter. We may have anxiety over what the coming journey may bring or feel naive bliss about the possibilities. Either way, like Abram, we unchartered territory. There is no GPS nor even a road atlas to help us navigate the hazards, hills, and mountaintops we may encounter. We don’t rely on good vibes, karma, or sheer acts of will to get us through, because eventually those concepts will fail. Instead, like Abram, we can move forward, knowing that God will meet us in the ups and downs along the way.
