Ballroom dancing is a lovely picture of two individuals working together as one
unit without speaking. Based on the body’s movements and eye contact, and
hours of time together, two dancers move together. Compare this grace and
beauty to the popular skit scenario of hiding one person behind another and
asking the hidden person to feed or apply make-up to the face of the person
seen. The clumsy and unnatural spectacle is funny but is an entirely different
moment than the graceful ballroom dance. Often, we feel like the two-person
clumsy skit, but we are invited to the ballroom dance. For a great illustration,
consider modeling both.
