Have you ever received a gift you know you did not deserve? Doesn’t it
completely change the way you think of the person or source of the undeserved
kindness? Think about how you would react if you owed a huge amount of
money to your landlord or mortgage provider and there was no way you could
pay it. How would you respond if they forgave the debt? Wouldn’t you be fiercely
loyal to that company? You would tell everyone how wonderful it is. The psalmist in Psalm 32:1–11
explains that a forgiven person is blessed because he or she recognizes how
great a debt has been removed.
