Big Difference

Do you know about the Lord, or do you know the Lord? The difference between these two questions is as big as the Grand Canyon. It is one thing to read about the Grand Canyon and see specials on TV about it, but quite another thing to stand on the edge of it and see it. To understand the Grand Canyon is a large hole in the earth is one thing, but to see and experience the depth and breadth of it is quite another. Encountering the depth of our sin through a reading of the Word of God can be a similar experience. We read about God’s expectations for us, see how far we have fallen short, and then are encouraged and inspired to repent of our sins, to correct our mistakes, to turn to the Lord and follow him and serve him all the days of our lives.
