In the original Star Wars trilogy, Luke Skywalker is an illustration of steadfast love that leads to redemption. Luke refuses to give up on his father, who happens to be Darth Vader, arguably one of the evilest men in the galaxy. No matter what people say or think of him, Luke refuses to hate his dad and instead loves him and cares for him. God’s steadfast love never gives up on us, and it is his love, through Jesus, that pursues and saves us.
