Humility Among Leadership

Stories are told about Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart, and his penchant for anonymity and a humble approach to his employees. From time to time, he’d show up at a local warehouse, dressed in overalls and a baseball cap, with the sole intention of driving a delivery truck. Humility among leaders is a critical point in showing people that you care deeply about them. It’s the CEO who grabs a mop bucket and helps clean up a mess when a pipe bursts, or the manager who makes sure to pick up drinks for the staff on her way back from Starbucks, for no other reason than to show her appreciation. It’s the site boss who makes sure his employees know he loves and appreciates them, even when he must push them to finish the job.
