There is good theology and bad theology. Some Christians think wrongly that the best way to avoid bad theology is to avoid theology altogether.

Of course, any situation that involves human beings interpretations or opinions has the potential to get a little messy. But there is most certainly a correct way to learn, study, and discuss theology while avoiding confusion or even conflict.
