Now Jesus, the perfect and final sacrifice, would die for the sins of all humanity in order to deliver all who believe from sin and death forever.
The song “Man of Sorrows” by Hillsong describes Jesus’s attitude accurately: “Man of Sorrows, Lamb of God, by his own betrayed / The sin of man and wrath of God has been on Jesus laid / Silent as he stood accused, beaten, mocked, and scorned / bowing to the Father’s will, he took a crown of thorns”
Jesus is the Lamb of God who paid for sin with his life and suffered silently when he was scorned. We can die to sin and live for righteousness because of Jesus’s sacrifice.
