A benefit from the communion of the saints is the benefit of provision. That is present in Acts 2:44–45. This is a description of a healthy community. There is generosity here, there is charity here, there is love here, and as a result, there is provision for those in need. There are a lot of things we’ve grown used to in America, which we think are needs but are not needs. We don’t need cable TV. We don’t need Netflix. We don’t need smartphones. We don’t need 4K Ultra OLED TVs. These were needs they were providing for: Clothing. Food. Shelter. Love is a need too, and they were showing love to one another by their generosity. Belonging is a need: letting the people know they were wanted, that they have worth and a purpose.
