Prayer and Generosity

God provides, still today, in miraculous ways. One day during a particularly difficult financial time for a family, a husband was upstairs in his bedroom, on his knees, praying for God to provide for his family. Suddenly, he heard his wife yelling excitedly for him. He hurried down the stairs to see his wife waving a battered envelope. “You won’t believe this,” she said. “I heard a knock on the door, opened it and this envelope was laying there.” Inside was a Visa gift card. It wasn’t a significant amount, but it was enough. It is one thing to hear that God will provide, quite another to see it happen while you are praying for it. Another reason generosity is helpful during Lent is you never know who you may end up being a blessing to.
